Tell us that this is your first class, or that you are returning after time away. You do not need to select an advanced course to get meaningful instruction. A safety foundation is a useful place to begin.
Confirm before you pay
Ask about the date, duration, location, total cost, included equipment, experience requirements, and cancellation terms. A website inquiry is not a confirmed registration. Keep the written confirmation from the registration provider or instructor.
Ask before bringing equipment
Do not assume that a particular firearm, ammunition type, or accessory is permitted. The instructor and venue set the session requirements. Ask in advance about loan equipment; availability is not guaranteed.
Plan for the learning environment
Confirm clothing, eye and ear protection, arrival time, and any accessibility arrangements. Share relevant accommodation requests directly with the instructor without sending sensitive medical information through the website form.
Bring your questions
Understanding the purpose of a rule is part of learning. If an instruction is unclear, stop and ask. Responsible students do not need to pretend they already know everything.
Know what happens next
Course completion does not guarantee a license, an emergency outcome, or readiness for every situation. Discuss a sensible next step with your instructor and continue practicing only within the limits of your training.
